A resident of Tampa took to TikTok to tell a detailed story of what she believed was justified vengeance. Most forms of vigilantism are, at the very least, morally reprehensible — but for this creator, if what she claims is true, she might be looking at multiple counts of third-degree felonies, as she allegedly infected members of her family with HIV.
The TikTok account operates under the username @missatiiga, and it’s not entirely clear whether her story is true or not. Ever since the original video went viral, she has been posting follow-up videos about her viral load, trying to convince people that her story is real. And to be fair, TikTok has long been the home of oversharing — for better or for worse.
Regardless of whether it’s true, she claimed that she had been in a marriage with a philandering husband for years. For some reason, however, she chose not to leave the marriage and instead wallow in self-pity. But things escalated, and before long, her husband allegedly began bringing other women into their matrimonial home.
Things only got worse when the TikTok creator started getting sick without explanation. When she went to the hospital for testing, she claims doctors told her she was HIV positive. Despite recent hesitancy toward medical institutions — partly fueled by the handling of the pandemic and figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — HIV has long had effective treatments, and reports suggest that a full cure may not be far off.
But this isn’t a story about stigma — it’s a story about vengeance, at least according to her. The creator claimed she decided to retaliate by approaching her husband’s father and brother and having sex with them, thereby allegedly spreading the virus to them as well. In her telling, her in-laws had never liked her: her mother-in-law thought she complained too much about the affairs, and her sister-in-law believed she had “stolen” her brother from a friend who was reportedly his ex.
According to her story, the family later discovered they were HIV positive. At that point, things became even more bizarre. She claimed that, initially, some family members believed they had contracted the virus from food she prepared — as if she had somehow “laced” it with HIV. She dismissed that as ridiculous, insisting instead on what she presented as the truth: that transmission occurred through sexual contact.
Under Florida law, failure to disclose one’s HIV-positive status before engaging in unprotected sexual activity is a serious offense, punishable by up to 10 years in prison — even if transmission does not occur. If her story is true, the legal consequences could be significant.
The creator did not clarify whether any family members have pressed charges. However, she claimed that her husband eventually apologized to the family for bringing the disease into their extended circle — which, if nothing else, adds another layer of dysfunction to an already deeply chaotic story.
The story itself seems pretty unbelievable, but if you scroll up just a couple of posts later, she claims that it’s very true.
