Texas man points out an issue at his local Texas Roadhouse, wants its CEO to know the solution is right next door

A Denton, Texas, man has suggested a plan to ease long wait times at a popular Texas Roadhouse location in the city. TikTok creator Dakota (@thosecoolneighbors) posted a video directed at Texas Roadhouse CEO Jerry Morgan after noticing the constant crowds at the chain’s Denton restaurant. The video has prompted viewers to imagine what could happen if the neighboring vacant restaurant became another Texas Roadhouse.

“This goes out to Jerry Morgan, the CEO of Texas Roadhouse,” Dakota said in the video. “So here in Denton, Texas, there’s a Texas Roadhouse location. I drive by it almost every single day, and it is packed any time of the day, every single day,” he said.

Dakota then pointed to the neighboring former On The Border restaurant. “On The Border is next door. But we all know they went bankrupt, and that location is abandoned,” he said.

He suggested that Texas Roadhouse purchase the vacant building and convert it into another restaurant.

“Now, I think that y’all should buy that location and turn it into a second Texas Roadhouse. That’s a great idea, right?” Dakota explained in his post. “Can you just imagine the very first ever double Texas Roadhouse sitting side by side? That would make so much money.”

He closed by encouraging viewers to spread the idea. “So everybody, like and share and tag somebody that works for Texas Roadhouse. Let’s get this idea rolling. The first-ever double Texas Roadhouses, side by side, next door to each other. Let’s do it.”

Confirming Dakota’s description, one commenter wrote, “Real local. But yeah, I don’t even ever attempt to go to that location. It’s always crazy busy.”

Another added, “I’m pretty sure I heard that’s the plan,” although no public announcement from Texas Roadhouse or property owner confirms that claim. A third viewer joked, “Make it a mega Texas Roadhouse with a mechanical bull in the center.”

Dakota’s suggestion comes after On The Border filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March 2025 while seeking to restructure its business and reject leases for dozens of underperforming restaurants, Forbes reported. Denton currently has one Texas Roadhouse location, according to the company’s official restaurant locator.

Publicly available information also does not indicate that Texas Roadhouse has ever intentionally operated two full-sized restaurants side by side at the same shopping center or address. The company continues to expand across the United States, but new restaurants typically serve different areas rather than sharing the same or adjacent sites.
