A first date between a woman and a man ended in an argument after the woman was seen packing leftover food into a plastic container to take home. The exchange was filmed and shared on TikTok by the account @ultimatebykomi.
In the video, the woman, who has dark hair with pink streaks and is wearing a white lace top, is shown pouring leftover food from a bowl into a clear container while sitting at a restaurant table with a man. When the man asked her what she was doing, she said she was taking the leftovers home for her children.
The man then questioned whether she had planned to bring food home before the date even started, since she had a container with her. The disagreement escalated from there, with the man saying he would not pay for her children’s food.
Man says he is not paying for the woman’s children
According to the video, the man asked the woman, “Did you know you were going to bring some leftovers home?” She replied that she packed the container “just in case there’s any leftovers at the end,” so she could take it home for her kids that night.
The man responded, “Oh no, I think you knew to have leftovers, otherwise you wouldn’t have brought the Tupperware.” He then said, “I’m paying for us to have something to eat, I ain’t paying for your kids. I’m not a food bank, come on.” Disputes over who covers the bill have shown up in other viral first-date clips, including one where a man refuses to pay for extra food his date ordered to take home.
The woman, appearing upset, replied, “That’s not very nice, is it?” The man said it was not nice for her to come on the date just to get leftovers. She defended herself, saying she had the container in her bag “just in case I got full,” and pointed out that he had said he was full too.
On-screen text in the video states that the woman is a single mother to six children, and that the man paid for the entire meal. It also claims that the woman had turned down the date four times before agreeing to go.
