A woman who posts on TikTok as @lovelyvree said in her video that she was traveling alone on the Carnival Celebration when she stepped out of the shower and found two men already inside her stateroom. On-screen text in the first video called the episode a “complete violation from Carnival cruise.” The post had drawn 257,100 views.
She said she had returned from the gym, pulled her clothes out, and gotten into the shower. As she was getting out, she heard noises in the cabin. She called out asking who was there and received no reply, she stated. When she opened the bathroom door, she said she saw two men through the mirror, one in a white shirt and one in a blue shirt.
The men told her they were there to change the balcony tables, she said. She yelled at them to get out and later went to guest services to file a complaint. She said her room steward had already made up the room that day, so she had not expected anyone else to enter.
Carnival representative said the line does not announce quick table swaps
She said guest services asked whether she had placed a do-not-disturb sign on the door. In a follow-up video on TikTok, she argued there was no obligation to use one and that she had a reasonable expectation of privacy. She compared comments telling her to use the sign to blaming a victim for clothing or for leaving a car unlocked.
She said her steward introduced himself on embarkation day, Sunday, September 6, and told her the room would be cleaned once a day, generally between 7 and 8 a.m. She said she put the sign on at night and took it off when she left.
Monday was the only day the room was not cleaned while she was at the gym, she stated. From Tuesday through Friday, the room was cleaned in that window, so she saw no reason for later entry. Privacy concerns on cruises can take different forms, as one woman discovered when she booked the cheapest room on a Carnival cruise.
Carnival’s contract, which she said she read twice and also ran through AI, allows entry with or without notice for non-compliance or an emergency, she claimed. She said she was not doing anything illegal and had not requested a table change. She said the line leaves many letters and invitations on doors and vanities, and could have left a notice for planned, multi-deck work. A commenter noted tables lined up on Deck 16 as well; she said she was on Deck 17.
In a third TikTok video, she played clips of a call from someone who identified as calling from the office of the president. The representative said announcing a table exchange “is just unfortunately not something that is done” because it is “a quick change when guests are not in their cabin.” The woman interrupted to say that she was in her cabin. The representative said the crew knocked, got no response, and proceeded, and that she “unfortunately did not hear their knock.”
The representative said Carnival pulled records, spoke with the crew and the chief security officer, and reviewed video. The line took ownership, the representative said, and training had already been given to the two crew members. The woman replied that training two people does not change a policy of not notifying guests and does not prevent the same thing from happening to someone else.
She said this was her seventh Carnival cruise since July 2025 and that she had three more booked for New Year’s, April, and May. She said she has canceled at least one and will cancel the rest. She asked Carnival to keep records of the entry, any communications about the tables, how long the men were in the room, and why they did not answer when she called out. She asked that further contact come by email.
She said the episode left her anxiety high and that she could not do what she had planned that day. She described past sexual abuse by two men who were siblings, abuse by an ex-partner, and a home break-in as the reason the situation triggered her. She said Carnival’s lack of a policy change, rather than only individual training, was why she planned to keep escalating the matter.
Viewers offered mixed advice in the comments on the first video. One person wrote, “Lock the door & put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.” Another said, “You CANNOT convince me that once they entered, they didn’t hear the shower.” Carnival’s troubles go beyond privacy violations, as a woman said a flood in her cabin ruined thousands of dollars ‘ worth of belongings.
A third user wrote, “They was supposed to leave you a letter the day before that they would be changing the table.” Others suggested, “Contact John Heald.. he is the head of guest relations/social media and CEO status,” “Oh I would be getting a refund on my Whole cruise..,” and “Their lack of accountability would require me to visit a lawyer.”
