A woman’s frustration at a Kroger gas station has gone viral after a video claims to show a cashier accidentally giving another customer her $50 fuel payment and Kroger rewards discount. The incident, shared by X account Loud Outside, shows the woman confronting an employee to demand that Kroger either refund her money or let her finish filling up her vehicle.
The video did not disclose the Kroger location. The video quickly gained attention after Loud Outside posted the caption: “Woman goes off after cashier gives her gas of $50 and Kroger rewards to someone else.” One comment noted in part, “Give her her money or give her the gas,” echoing a witness who overheard the situation in the video.
According to the footage, the woman said she originally paid $50 in cash for gas and expected to receive the full amount of fuel, along with a Kroger rewards discount she had earned. She told the employee that she only received about $15 worth of gas before realizing something had gone wrong.
According to the video, the employee said call “1-800-KROGER.”
She repeatedly pushed back when the employee suggested calling 1-800-KROGER, saying she should not have to wait for a corporate response when the issue happened at the register. The woman argued that because she paid cash, the store should be able to correct the mistake immediately.
“I gave you cash,” the woman said during the exchange, explaining that she wanted her money returned directly. She questioned why employees could not simply fix the transaction at the store.
The employee appeared to explain that he had already processed the money through the register. For that reason, Kroger’s customer service would need to handle the refund. The woman remained frustrated, asking why the store could not provide the difference owed to her.
The conversation then shifted to the amount of money involved. Employees attempted to calculate how much fuel the woman should receive after accounting for what had already been pumped. The woman insisted that another customer had received the rest of her purchase.
As employees tried to sort out the transaction, the woman questioned whether she also lost her Kroger fuel discount. She said she had a 10-cent-per-gallon reward attached to the purchase and believed she never received it. “Yeah, see, I ain’t get none of that,” she said after asking about the discount.
The woman later clarified that she was not trying to argue with employees personally but was upset about the situation. She said the problem was frustrating because she believed the store had a simple solution: either provide the gas she paid for or return the money.
The video does not show whether Kroger ultimately refunded the woman, corrected the transaction, or provided additional fuel. It also does not confirm whether the cashier actually applied her cash payment and rewards to another customer’s purchase. Kroger has not publicly commented on the incident.
