Woman’s ex-boyfriend’s sister allegedly hid her passport the night before a $5,200 holiday. Then on the last day of the trip she planned a revenge

The sister apparently couldn't accuse her without exposing her own actions.

A woman has claimed on TikTok that her ex-boyfriend’s sister hid her passport the night before a £4,000 ($5,200) family holiday, causing her to miss the flight. The video, posted by Amber on her account @txcstories, has drawn thousands of comments and a lot of attention on the platform. Amber said she had never shared the story publicly before posting it to her then-half-a-million followers.

In the video, Amber claims the sister had never liked her. “She genuinely could not stand the sight of me, and everybody knew it,” she claimed, adding that the boyfriend’s parents were also aware of the tension. She alleged the sister was never held accountable for her behavior because she was treated as the family favorite, describing her as “the princess.”

She explained that the family had all booked a large group holiday together, described as somewhere “really exotic” and “really expensive.” Because the flights were at 5 in the morning, Amber stayed at her boyfriend’s family home the night before. She said she had packed everything and was confident her passport was in her bag before she went to sleep.

How the passport went missing and what she did after finding it

The following morning, during a last-minute passport check before leaving for the airport, her passport allegedly was not where she said she had left it. According to the video, she, her boyfriend, and his parents searched the house for around 20 minutes. She claimed the sister did not join the search. Unable to find it, and having run out of time, she said the rest of the family left for the airport without her, including her boyfriend. Amber said she was left crying on the driveway.

She said she was given her boyfriend’s house key so she could tidy up and lock the door behind her. After another unsuccessful search, she went home. “I cry, I sleep, I eat, I stay in bed all day. I’m utterly depressed. I’m £4,000 down on a holiday that I can’t even go on,” she said in the video. She then described having what she called “an epiphany.”

Amber said she returned to the boyfriend’s house, let herself in, and went directly to the sister’s bedroom. According to her account, she searched the room thoroughly and eventually found her passport hidden under the sister’s mattress. She claimed she immediately knew that calling out the sister to the family would not result in any real consequences. “She is such a princess in that family that I know she wouldn’t have been punished for this,” she said. In another widely shared story, a woman who exposed her best friend for cheating on her brother also described a similar feeling of needing to take matters into her own hands.

Rather than confronting the family, Amber said she called her father instead. “My dad, being the absolute f–king legend that he is, he said, there is absolutely no way that girl is ruining your holiday. Absolutely not. I’m booking you another flight,” she recalled. She said she told no one in the boyfriend’s family and simply showed up at the hotel. “The look on her face when I turned up to that hotel, it was like she’d seen a ghost,” she claimed.

According to her account, the sister was visibly unhappy for the rest of the holiday, making what she described as “nasty little comments” and maintaining what she called “such a miserable face the whole holiday.” On the final morning, Amber said she woke up hours before everyone else and quietly took the sister’s passport, hiding it behind a wardrobe that was fixed to the wall and had a gap at the back. When the group did their final passport check before heading to the airport, the sister allegedly could not find hers. “The best part is she knows it’s me. She knew it was me that took her passport, but she couldn’t say anything because then she’d have to explain how she knew,” Amber claimed.

She said the sister missed her flight home and the family had to arrange emergency travel documents, additional hotel nights, and a new flight, which she described as costing “a fortune.” The sister allegedly told the family she had £600 at home to put toward the costs, money Amber said she had found during her search of the bedroom and had used as holiday spending money.

She also said she ended the relationship shortly after returning home, stating that watching her boyfriend feel sorry for his sister gave her “the ultimate ick.” “I think I was merely procuring one of karma’s finest pieces of work,” she said. Stories of family fallouts leading to dramatic consequences have surfaced repeatedly online, including one account of a man who claimed he and his siblings targeted their mother’s ex over an affair that cost him his job and eventually led to his arrest.

The video has drawn thousands of comments, with many viewers expressing support for Amber. “She may be the princess, but you’re the queen,” wrote one commenter. Another user wrote, “I’ve never been more proud of someone I’ve never met. Good for you, good girl.”

The detail about the £600 appeared to generate a particularly strong reaction in the comments. “The £600 was the cherry on top,” wrote one user, while another commenter wrote, “NOT THE £600 ASWELLLLLLLL.” One user commented, “Passport for a passport was fantastic, but the £600? That was just perfection.” Not all viewers were fully on board with that part, however. One commenter wrote, “The only thing I don’t agree with was the £600 unless you used that to change your flight then that’s a little different.”

Some viewers expressed skepticism about whether the story was true. “I am sure this is fake, but great story,” wrote one user, while another commented simply, “Yeah that never happened.” Another user wrote, “Very good story, but also very fake.” Despite the doubt from some, the overall comment section appeared largely supportive, with a user writing, “Your an absolute legend 100% on your side.”
