A woman on TikTok has been praised as a hero after allegedly rescuing her friend’s dog from the clutches of an ex-boyfriend who was supposedly selling the pooch. The woman was able to take the dog away from him and drive the dog to her friend.
The viral clip showing TikToker Allysea and the dog on their way to the airport to be reunited with the friend has already received more than 6 million views on the app and almost 2 million likes. The dog can be seen peering out of the car window as Allysea drives them both through the night, the caption claims that her friend was “out of town,” and while she was away her ex had supposedly posted the dog for sale online.
Allysea apparently saw the post and messaged the ex to say she was on her way to pick the dog up. She claims to speed over and grab the dog before she could be sold.
Viewers praised Allysea with one commenter telling her, “You are an angel.” Another person commended her loyalty to her friend, writing, “The power of female friendship is one of the most beautiful things on this earth.”
Why was the dog even for sale in the first place?
While most were just glad to hear that the dog was allegedly being reunited with her rightful owner, many wanted to know a little more context. Some asked why the dog was with the ex and how Allysea was supposedly able to convince him to give her the pooch. Allysea and the friend who the dog belonged to recorded a short story time where they explained their version of what went down.
“We have sat here, I kid you not, 30 minutes trying to film this story time and we just can’t. We’re so mad,” Allysea states. According to the two women, the ex had a social media post advertising the dog for sale. The friend, who was at the airport about to come home, was going back-and-forth over text with her ex. “He was not giving her the dog at all,” so Allysea apparently texted him “on my way,” but at this point the friend is boarding her flight so has no clue what’s happening.
Despite not being able to contact her friend due to their being no Wi-Fi on the flight Allysea had to go with her gut and take the pooch, deciding to race to the ex’s location and grab the dog. The ex apparently also admitted that the dog had not been fed for a week despite the fact he had dogs of his own he would have fed.
Much like the original video, Allysea’s story time was filled with more comments of praise, “Your [sic] not only an amazing friend but a top tier person for saving that dog.” one comment reads. “That’s not your best friend— that’s your sister,” another person wrote.
