Florida man faces charges after trying to flirt with a woman at McDonald’s. He allegedly threatened to kill her and shoot her boyfriend after she rejected him

An ordinary evening stop for fast food in South Florida quickly transformed into a terrifying ordeal when a stranger’s unwanted advances turned into violent death threats.

According to Mandatory, on Sept. 12, Broward County deputies arrested 29-year-old Jerimiah Williams following an aggressive confrontation at a McDonald’s restaurant on West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park, Florida. Williams now faces multiple criminal charges after allegedly menacing a couple who were simply attempting to use a self-service kiosk to order food.

According to the police arrest affidavit, the incident began around 8:00 p.m. inside the fast-food restaurant. A woman and her boyfriend were standing at a digital kiosk when they noticed Williams sitting alone at a nearby table. The couple later told investigators from the Broward Sheriff’s Office that they had never seen or interacted with the man before that evening.

The rejection agitate Williams

The woman told officers that Williams began staring at her intently. She initially interpreted his behavior as an unwelcome attempt to flirt or intentionally provoke a hostile reaction from her boyfriend. Deciding that the safest course of action was non-engagement, the couple tried to ignore him and continued placing their dinner order.

However, the silent rejection appeared to agitate Williams further. Williams reportedly rose from his table and began making aggressive gestures, signaling for the woman to leave her boyfriend and follow him toward the restaurant’s restrooms.

When the woman refused to comply with his demands, Williams allegedly marched directly up to the couple. Investigators noted that Williams purposefully brushed past her boyfriend, making physical contact in what authorities characterized as an attempt to instigate a physical fight.

The situation rapidly spiraled from an awkward, invasive public disturbance into a life-threatening scenario. Williams allegedly locked eyes with the woman and delivered a chilling verbal threat: “You’re going to die and I’m going to shoot your boyfriend.”

Immediately after making the statement, Williams exited the building. Terrified, the couple watched him through the window as he stopped just outside the doors. The arrest report states that Williams threw down a “military-style digital camo backpack” onto the pavement, unzipped it, and reached inside.

He then pulled out an object and brandished it toward the couple. Believing the object was a black semi-automatic handgun, the victims feared for their lives and scrambled to dial 911.

Realizing the victims were calling the police, Williams packed up his bag and fled the scene on foot, running down Oakland Park Boulevard. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the emergency call. Armed with the couple’s description of the suspect and his distinctive digital camouflage backpack, officers flooded the surrounding area and successfully located Williams a short distance from the McDonald’s.

The weapon might have been a replica

It remains unclear if Williams discarded the weapon while fleeing or if he had brandished a replica object to simulate a deadly firearm. When questioned by investigators, Williams denied the couple’s version of events. According to police files, he claimed he was the victim and insisted that the couple had aggressively initiated the altercation with him.

Williams is facing three counts, including two felony counts of aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count of touch-or-strike battery. His total bond has been set at $5,000.
