Interestingly, the show’s flashbacks reveal that Elektra was gone from Matt’s life years before he first tried out being a vigilante. However, it clearly didn’t take her long too long after returning to realize her old flame is secretly the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen as she presents a shocked Matt with his costume after manipulating him into coming to her apartment to help take down members of the Yakuza.
Dispensing with the clichéd approach of stretching out a reveal like this, it was awesome to see Daredevil get straight to the point, while still keeping us and Matt in the dark about Elektra.
