Arrow’s Emily Bett Rickards Says Goodbye To Felicity Smoak With Set Photo

When it was initially announced that Arrow would be hanging up its quiver following its eighth season, we all assumed that the major players would be around for the final episodes. Instead, we recently learned that fan favorite stalwart Emily Bett Rickards will make her own exit before season 7 has concluded. But if Smallville survived its final three years without Michael Rosenbaum or Kristin Kreuk as part of the principal cast (though both returned for some guest appearances), then so, too, can Arrow get through ten more episodes this fall.

Understandably, it’d be hard for anyone who’s played the same character for so long to walk away from their gig. Furthermore, it’s got to be difficult for their colleagues to swallow that pill, as series lead Stephen Amell and the show’s very producers have already expressed their gratitude.

This time, it’s Rickards herself taking to social media by posting a few photos now that her filming on the series has wrapped. In fact, you can check out a few images recently shared to her Instagram story in the gallery below. And as an added bonus, a video uploaded to Twitter by co-star Rick Gonzalez  can be found below that.

To be honest, some of this confuses me because, like I said earlier, we were told that Felicity is supposed to bounce before the finale – which happens to be the most recent episode to be filmed. Furthermore, Amell also spoke of shooting his last scene with Rickards not long ago, so I guess we’ll have to keep watching in order to see what truly happens.

But before then, we’ll see Ms. Smoak engage in some Birds of Prey-inspired action when “Lost Canary” graces the small screen. Here’s the official synopsis for that one:

BIRDS OF PREY; CAITY LOTZ GUEST STARS — After being accused of murder and having her criminal past exposed, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) goes full Black Siren and teams up with an old criminal acquaintance, Shadow Thief (guest star Carmel Amit), to go on a crime spree around Star City. While Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) aims to bring Laurel in, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to give up on her friend and tries everything to get through to her, even summoning Sara Lance (guest star Caity Lotz) for help. However, Laurel rebuffs all her efforts, forcing the former friends to face off against each other. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Jill Blankenship & Elisa Delson (#718). Original airdate 4/15/2019.

Arrow returns with new episodes on Monday, April 15th on The CW.
