With each passing season of The Flash, we’ve come to expect change in various respects. I mean, not only have we met various iterations of Harrison Wells and seen the titular hero don several different costumes, but the Scarlet Speedster and his daughter from the future, Nora, have actually succeeded in altering the timeline.
That said, Iris West-Allen will undergo a change of her own this fall in the form of a new ‘do. When you think about it, she’s pretty much hung in there with the same look since the beginning of the series, so we can’t fault actress Candice Patton for wanting to change up things.
So, while her onscreen husband struts around in yet another new costume, expect for Iris to rock some curls. Seen below, the image was first posted by Patton herself on Twitter, along with the following caption:
“Means a lot to wear my curls on The Flash. And I know it will to so many of you who look like me. We asked and our EP @ewrote gave me the go ahead.”
Let it also be known that “6×05” was also included with the post, so we’ll have to wait and see if that’s when Iris’ new look will debut, or if shooting for that episode was merely when Patton was given permission to release a photo.
As for the “@ewrote” she was referring to, that’s Eric Wallace, the new showrunner. I guess it makes sense to have to get his permission to do something like this, as actors can’t just show up on set with haircuts contradictory to what’s been filmed. Regardless, Candice is looking radiant as ever.
