Though the wait has been perplexingly long for the third season of Scream, we can at least offer something to look forward to when the slasher series does make its long-delayed return.

Bloody Disgusting reports that this next set of episodes will feature renowned horror actor Tony Todd. The performer has accumulated some noteworthy credentials in the genre over the years, including major roles in the Final Destination movies and the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, but the star is probably best remembered as the titular killer of the Candyman films. Earlier today, the actor took to Instagram with a photo of himself alongside another season 3 addition, the rapper Tyga.

This next season is set to serve as a reboot for the Scream property. In a shorter-than-usual six episodes, the new cast will be rounded out by C.J. Wallace, Keke Palmer, Giorgia Whigham, RJ Cyler, Jessica Sula, Giullian Yao Gioiello, and Tyler Posey. The show will follow Cyler as Deion Elliot, a local star running back whose promising future is put in jeopardy when his tragic past comes back to haunt him and his friends. Tyler Posey of Teen Wolf fame will meanwhile play drug dealer and party promoter Shane, a high school dropout who could be holding a dark secret of his own.

Of course, at this rate, it’s hard to say when any of these characters will be seeing the light of day. Though Scream season 3 was initially scheduled to arrive in March earlier this year, it’s since been clarified that complications from the Harvey Weinstein scandal have been holding things up. While it’s surely only a matter of time until a new date is set, for now we remain in the dark. Say Candyman’s name five times and he’s supposed to appear, but apparently it will take a lot more than that to bring this series back.
