Whenever superhero team-ups occur, be they in comic books, animation or live action, it’s not just the big fight scenes that fans remember – it’s those little moments the characters share that are forever etched into our memories. Well, if Charlie Cox has his way, The Defenders will retain that aspect.

In a recent discussion with Entertainment Weekly, the Daredevil actor said he would like to bring a certain heartwarming moment to life in the near future:

“One of my favorite images is from a Daredevil issue with Luke Cage and Daredevil on a rooftop eating cheeseburgers. I love that.”

Not only would that be cool to see, but it would likely inspire countless memes for years to come. Personally, I would be much too nervous to knock back a cheeseburger from a perch that high up, but then again, I’m not the Man Without Fear nor do I have impenetrable skin.

Furthermore, Cox has been taking notes when it comes to how his character should interact with other members of the team:

“There are some fantastic moments in the Daredevil series with Jessica Jones, with Luke Cage, with Iron Fist. I’ve taken note of the moments in the Daredevil comics where new characters are coming in and sharing panels with Daredevil, and in terms of how Matt might operate in a team-up scenario, I read Civil War. He plays a relatively big part in the comics — I mean, he’s kind of in the background for most of it, but the crux of the plan hinges on him. And so, I’m just looking for little nuggets, for stuff I can use and any clues into how I can play him.”

If the cast has as much fun onscreen as they do when taking part in photo shoots, that should translate to being a good end product. Hey, if it works for the Justice League, then it should work for some of the toughest heroes to walk the streets of New York, right?

The Defenders will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2017.
