Casting for the sophomore outing of USA Network’s Mr. Robot is beginning to heat up, with Craig Robinson (The Office, Hot Tub Time Machine) enlisting for season 2 alongside fellow newcomers Joey Bada$$, Chris Conroy and Grace Gummer.

Landing a recurring role on the award-winning hacking drama, Robinson joins the show’s roster as Ray, a “neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot (Rami Malek) in his time of need.” No further details were disclosed about Robinson’s newcomer nor how his own personal plight will be dealt with by Elliot, but we expect that Malek’s reclusive protagonist will handle Ray from behind his trusty keyboard.

Buoyed by the success of its inaugural season – not to mention Golden Globe gongs for Christian Slater’s scenery-chewing performance and writer-creator Sam Esmail – Mr. Robot season 2 is due to begin production today in New York City ahead of its arrival in the summer. USA Network has confirmed that Elliot’s journey further down the rabbit hole will once again run for ten episodes, and fans can look forward to Malek’s character going up against the elusive Whiterose following the events of season 1.

Rounding out the core cast are Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen as the chilling Joanna. Expect Evil Corp Mr. Robot season 2 to hack onto screens at some point during summer 2016.
