Now that fans and binge-watchers alike are beginning to cross the finish line of Daredevil season 2, where they’ll even find the first teaser for Marvel’s Luke Cage series, the leading players of Hell’s Kitchen have begun to look to the future.
Earlier this week, Charlie Cox himself weighed in on the possibility of locking horns with Bullseye in a potential third season of Daredevil, and though there was rumors swirling regarding a potential spinoff series for The Punisher, Elodie Yung has cooled talk of an offshoot for her own frenemy, Elektra.
Speaking with IGN, the actress even talks about her desire to appear in Marvel’s Defenders series. It is, however, a conversation that strays deep into spoiler territory for Daredevil season 2, so we’ve included the extract after the jump.[zergpaid]
“I love Elektra. I really have a special place in my heart for her. It was very enjoyable for me to discover her and to adapt her for this project and bring myself to this character. So I have a special spot for her. Having my own show — it’s not something that I think of, it’s not. I think I would choose to do things because they are interesting, because I like a character or because it’s very well written. Or because it makes sense. So that’s my answer.
“I would love to appear in ‘The Defenders. I don’t know — because hopefully she’ll maybe be on the bad side. I don’t know — I don’t know what they’d do with Elektra in ‘The Defenders’ but that would be a good dynamic I think — to be confronted by these four superheroes and I think it would be interesting. I’d be curious to see what they do.”
Without question, the introduction of both The Punisher and Elektra added a new spice to Daredevil season 2. Reflecting on the show’s sophomore outing, we weighed up the best moments that featured both Jon Bernthal’s maniac and Elodie Yung’s former flame, and we advise that you check them out.
