7 Characters Who Should Be On Season 3 Of Gotham

Since its premiere in late 2014, Gotham has gone from strength to strength. It has successfully updated the often cluttered backstories of several core characters, holding the attention of both casual viewers and long time comic book fans. Season two has now ended and the streets are more dangerous than ever, while our heroes and villains are beginning to fall into step with their comic book counterparts (looking at you, Ed Nygma). Several characters we've not seen in a while have also returned, with different priorities than when we last left them.

Many may argue that the League Of Assassins/Shadows has been overexposed in other media, having been the villains in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises, Arkham City and the awful third season of Arrow. However, Shiva, one of their most dynamic members, has yet to receive her curtain call.

A true fan favorite due to the impact she has had in the comics, she’s a highly trained, enigmatic lone wolf. Shiva will often ignore League protocol and follow her own path, training several people who would one day become her enemies, Batman included. Despite this, she maintains the respect of the League’s leader Ra’s Al Ghul, who views her as one of his most trustworthy and valuable servants.

It is this trust that would bring her into Gotham. Tasked with the supervision and early training of Bruce Wayne, Shiva would present a nigh on irresistible prospect to Bruce, who craves the skill and knowledge needed to save his city and avenge his parents.

While Shiva’s ruthless nature rubs off on Bruce, she in turn is exposed to his earnestness and decency, calling her duty to Ra’s into question. She would have to choose between allowing herself to become Bruce’s enemy, or lead him further into the League’s brutal doctrine.
