Gotham Gets Another Extended Promo Ahead Of Season Finale

With the oversized finale to Gotham's third season being but a few hours away, it's understandable that the network will want to do all they can to help get word out. Having already released one extended promo, along with a sneak peek focusing on the urgency to find a cure for the Alice Tetch virus and a featurette spotlighting the debut of Ra's al Ghul, yet another extended trailer has now been offered up by Fox.

This one, while maintaining a sense of urgency, doesn’t shy away from showcasing the many villains that’ll be appearing. In the past, Gotham has had a problem with trying to wrap up too many plot threads involving its myriad of characters in its finales, a fault that not even the otherwise incredible season 2 was able to escape. This time, hopefully, things go a little smoother considering that two hours of breathing room have been afforded, and that villains have chosen sides in the coming war, so they won’t be too spread out.

To its credit, the promo has plenty of material ripe for freeze-framing, allowing the most devoted of fans to comb it for clues within the next few hours. It doesn’t seem like there are any Harley Quinn Easter eggs to be found, but you never know. One thing, however, is for certain: tonight brings big change for either Barbara Kean or Lee Thompkins, the two most likely to make the transition.

With the deadly virus spreading throughout the city, the search for the antidote continues, as Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), The Riddler and Penguin reveal plans of their own. Bruce meets Ra’s Al Ghul (guest star Alexander Siddig) and completes his last task in order to fulfill his destiny, but realizes he can’t let go of his past. Meanwhile, Gordon tries to win back Lee, and past alliances within Gotham City are broken, while new alliances are formed in the all-new, special two-hour “Heroes Rise: Destiny Calling/ Heroes Rise: Heavydirtysoul” season finale episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, June 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
