Harley Quinn Confirmed For Gotham Season 3 Finale

Sometimes to the chagrin of staunch purists but to the delight of those who enjoy re-imaginings, Gotham continues to put its own stamp on the Batman mythos by taking established characters in unexpected directions, effectively keeping the viewing audience as a whole on their toes. One such example is that of the unfolding situation with Barbara Kean.

One such example is that of the unfolding situation with Barbara Kean.

Originally, she started out in a familiar role as the girlfriend of Jim Gordon, which made sense considering that the two got married in the comics. But at the end of season 1, Barbara revealed herself to be a cold-blooded killer and has since gone on to rise through the ranks of Gotham City’s underworld, even founding her own nightclub with Tabitha Galavan, Sirens.

In the past few months, staggering evidence has mounted, implying that she’ll soon transition to becoming this series’ version of Harley Quinn. It also helped our case when actress Erin Richards continually dropped hints of her own while also developing an affinity for black and red attire onscreen, a color scheme favored by the Clown Princess of Crime.

Now, David Mazouz, Bruce Wayne himself, did us all a solid by confirming Harley’s appearance next week in an interview with Movie Pilot:

“She’s going to be in the finale. Stay tuned.”

Although he was unable to elaborate, I’m sure we can all do simple math. Hell, the only way this won’t pan out as expected is if the producers throw a curveball at us and instead make the Alice Tetch virus infected Lee Thompkins the iconic character. Either way, we’re seeing Harley in less than a week, and we can’t wait.

Gotham airs on Monday nights on Fox.
