The CW has released the first official images from next week’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and they offer up an intriguing look at what’s to come in the series. For starters, we get to see even more unique team-ups, but it’s the possibility of romance between Rip Hunter and Sara Lance which is most intriguing, despite being somewhat unlikely seeing as he’s trying to save his wife and child.

For further information, here’s the synopsis for the episode – which is titled “Blood Ties” – courtesy of the network:

Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides to weaken Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) by going after his financial assets. Rip and Sara (Caity Lotz) infiltrate Savage’s bank, but are discovered by his men. Meanwhile, Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) talk Jax (Franz Drameh) into taking the jump ship back to Central City so they can steal a valuable emerald. Professor Stein (Victor Garber) guides Ray (Brandon Routh) on a dangerous mission. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Chris Fedak.

Seeing as this week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow featured a major character death, the team now has an even greater motivation to take down Vandal Savage. Whether or not they’ll ultimately succeed is something we won’t find out for quite some time (this first season is made up of sixteen episodes after all), but the journey to that point is shaping up to be a lot of fun so far.

Legends of Tomorrow will air an all new episode next Thursday, so be sure to tune in.
