Has he traded in walkers for mushrooms?

If there is one thing that HBO’s The Last of Us has proven, it is that the post-apocalyptic zombie drama genre is not dead yet. Of course, the infected in this series are not officially zombies, as the dead are not reanimated. Going into the show, it was normal for people to think that we might be burnt out on the genre as a whole, especially after a decade of AMC’s The Walking Dead.

With that being said, there might be fans of TWD who have migrated channels to see how HBO handles the apocalypse. In fact, after the latest episode of TLOU, fans think they may have spotted a TWD star grace their screens. Let’s get to the bottom of it.

Does The Walking Dead‘s Andrew Lincoln appear in HBO’s The Last of Us?

If you saw a beard in The Last of Us and thought it was Rick Grimes, you will need to sit back in your seat because that wasn’t Andrew Lincoln.

In the fourth episode of HBO’s series, “Please Hold My Hand,” viewers are introduced to a new character, Perry, who also has a beard fit for the apocalypse. While he may have a Grimes look, that is actor Jeffrey Pierce. If you played the games, Pierce may look familiar, which could explain the case of mistaken identity. After all, he played Joel’s brother, Tommy, in the TLOU video games.

Don’t worry Andrew Lincoln fans, you will eventually see Rick face some zombies again when the upcoming spinoff series eventually releases. As for The Last of Us, you can catch it on HBO Max on Sunday nights, except for episode five, which will release on Friday.
