Jason Sudeikis Will Join Eastbound And Down

Variety is reporting that Hollywood's new favorite comedian, Jason Sudeikis, will be seen in the third and final season of HBO's Eastbound and Down. Sudeikis will co-star alongside Danny McBride who plays the show's main character Kenny Powers, a washed up major league baseball pitcher. Sudeikis will take on the role of Shane, one of Kenny’s new friends. Production on season three is expected to get going sometime this summer.

2011 has been a good year for Jason Sudeikis thus far. Both Horrible Bosses and Hall Pass earned relatively good reviews and the comedian was also chosen to host the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. He also has a great gig going on SNL and he has a couple more comedies that we’ll be seeing shortly (A Good Old Fashioned Orgy and Movie 43).

Eastbound and Down is a gem of a show and I’m both shocked and sad to see it ending after only three seasons. With Sudeikis’ involvement though, the series will go out on top. It’s already hilarious and now that Sudeikis is on board, expect things to only get even funnier. The way it’s shaping up, season three will likely be the best of the series and act as a fitting end to one of television’s funniest and most under-appreciated shows.
