Jay Garrick on The Flash

Jesse Quick And Jay Garrick Return In New Flash Photos

After the speedster-packed season 3, The Flash season 4 has been surprisingly lacking in that area. Even Wally West's Kid Flash jumped over to Legends of Tomorrow instead. Next week's episode will finally put this right, though, as it'll see the return of two of Barry Allen's closest speedster allies: Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp).

After the speedster-packed season 3, The Flash season 4 has been surprisingly lacking in that area. Even Wally West’s Kid Flash jumped over to Legends of Tomorrow instead. Next week’s episode will finally put this right, though, as it’ll see the return of two of Barry Allen’s closest speedster allies: Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) – and both characters are teased in the new gallery of photos down below.

The previously-released synopsis for “Enter Flashtime” tells us that the trio of speedsters will come together when a nuclear bomb detonates in Central City. In order to find time to save the day, Barry, Jesse and Jay will have to enter a special slow-motion state known as “Flashtime.”

For more, here’s the official plot summary:

JESSE QUICK AND JAY GARRICK TEAM UP WITH THE FLASH — When a nuclear bomb detonates in downtown Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp) slow down time by entering Flashtime.

Fans have often hoped that the show would really push Barry to his limits and find out what he can do with his speedster powers, so this premise definitely sounds exciting. What’s more, the concept of Flashtime doesn’t exactly have a counterpart in the comics and will see the TV series adding something new to the mythology.

As you would expect with a nuclear bomb going off, it looks to be a tough day for Team Flash. The photos tell us that Caitlin and Cisco will suit up as Killer Frost and Vibe to help out, while the speedsters themselves look to be working hard. Just notice the image where Barry’s comforting a tired-looking Jay. Elsewhere, WestAllen fans will be pleased by the several pics that tease a romantic moment and heart-to-heart between Barry and Iris.

Be sure to catch an all-new episode of The Flash tonight on The CW.
