Juliana Harkavy And Rick Gonzalez Confirmed As Series Regulars For Arrow Season 6

While the ongoing situation involving Deathstroke's return continues to confound us, let's turn our attention toward some news that's a little more positive. Quite frankly, if the knowledge that Juliana Harkavy and Rick Gonzalez have been confirmed as series regulars for Arrow season 6 doesn't brighten your day ever so slightly, I'm not sure what will.

While the ongoing situation involving Deathstroke’s return continues to confound us, let’s turn our attention toward some news that’s a little more positive. Quite frankly, if the knowledge that Juliana Harkavy and Rick Gonzalez have been confirmed as series regulars for Arrow season 6 doesn’t brighten your day ever so slightly, I’m not sure what will.

Something that many viewers have been able to agree on is that this show has been on an upswing this year, effectively becoming the strongest offering since that of season 2. Although many factors likely contributed to the revitalization, some credit could be given to what’s been dubbed “Team Arrow 2.0” by the online community and, without a doubt, two of the most invaluable additions have been that of Wild Dog and Dinah Lance, each played by the aforementioned promoted actors.

Really, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given how much screentime Wild Dog’s been getting and due to the fact that Dinah has all but claimed the mantle of Black Canary, which we all know will happen sooner or later. Had Harkavy not been brought back for next season, I think many would be up in arms because introducing such an important character only to take them away would’ve been an odd narrative choice worthy of season 4, and it’s doubtful anyone wants a repeat of that.

Something this does do is open up a realm of possibilities as to what season 6 may entail. Knowing that Katie Cassidy is once again a series regular and will be playing Black Siren, I’m sticking to my guns in saying that she may very well be next year’s big bad and it could be Canary Cry vs. Canary Cry, if you will. Plus, I can’t wait to see how Quentin Lance deals with it all.

Arrow returns with new episodes on Wednesday, April 26 on The CW.
