Last night the Emmys took place and surprisingly, the biggest news of the night wasn’t who won, it was who lost. The most notable loser was AMC’s Mad Men, which walked in with 17 nominations and walked away with absolutely nothing.

Instead, the Emmy favorite last night seemed to be Homeland which earned four Emmys, including Best Drama Series. Expected favorite Modern Family also cleaned up, which is in no way surprising and frankly, a bit annoying.

Though I can’t say I’m happy with all the Homeland/Modern Family love, as I’m not a big fan of either show, I am pleased about Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul taking home a supporting actor award. I’m a very big fan of the actor in general and his work on the show, so it’s great to see him getting some recognition.

It was also nice to see Game Change earning some well deserved awards as I really enjoyed what Jay Roach did with the film.
