Darkness is falling across the land and the midnight hour is close at hand, which must mean it’s nearly time for the much-anticipated second season of Netflix’s smash hit horror series, Stranger Things. With the upcoming run due to arrive on the streaming service this month, a new clip has surfaced that reveals what’s to befall Hawkins come Halloween.
Despite getting rid of the so-called Demogorgon and restoring peace and balance to the eerie town – at the expense of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven…for now – Stranger Things season 2 will unleash a whole new wave of nasties, including a tendrilled sky-monster (Shadow Monster), upon the hapless folks of Indiana. That “singular threat” is spreading, it seems, so expect the show’s second season to boast a bigger sense of scale and scope than its precursor.
Don’t expect to find any of that teased up in the clip above, however. Instead, it’s a more playful look at the series, one that sees the kids out for Halloween trick or treating when they run into none other than Michael Myers! Well, ok, not exactly. Rather, it’s just one of their friends dressed as the horror icon, but it makes for a great little scene that’s sure to have you smiling.
Joining the likes of David Harbour (Hellboy), Winona Ryder and all of those up-and-coming young stars for the new season are Power Rangers actor Dacre Montgomery, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Linnea Berthelsen and Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, a “disgraced journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist who is investigating a cold case in Hawkins.”
Stranger Things is beginning to grip the Internet once more ahead of its return on October 27th, and all signs point to season 2 delivering a spooky surprise this Halloween. You needn’t worry about the show becoming long in the tooth, either, as the Duffer Brothers have seemingly mapped out a four-or-five season arc.
