Norman Reedus Has No Intention Of Leaving The Walking Dead Anytime Soon

While speaking to ET Canada, Norman Reedus revealed that he currently has no intention of leaving The Walking Dead anytime soon.

By this stage in the game, The Walking Dead fanbase knows how to say goodbye to their favorite characters – so just imagine how Norman Reedus feels.

The series veteran and all-around fan favorite is now one of the only remaining original cast members on the hit AMC drama, given Danai Gurira (Michonne) is set to bow out of The Walking Dead saga – and potentially reunite with Rick Grimes on the big screen, providing everything goes according to plan.

Reedus, on the other hand, currently has no intention of leaving The Walking Dead – not now, and perhaps not ever, after the actor revealed to ET Canada that he’d “burn down that whole studio if they got rid of me.” He’s joking, of course. But the message is crystal-clear: Daryl is here to stay.

I don’t want to go anywhere. I’ll burn down that whole studio if they got rid of me. I always said I wanted to just walk off into the sunset with a dog, but now so many people are doing that, that I don’t know. I don’t know how I’d want to die. I don’t want to die ever, so I don’t want to put it out there. I don’t want to give anyone any ideas.

On a more somber note, Reedus then reflected on the moment when he discovered Danai Gurira, star of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, was due to follow Andrew Lincoln out the exit door. Spoilers: he was pretty emotional.

I’ve seen so many people come and go on that show, it’s a bummer to me. Their ghosts are always with me. It’s a very heavy thing to take with you.

So even now, more than nine years after The Walking Dead flickered into life, Norman Reedus remains as invested in the AMC drama as ever. Which is just as well, given season 10 is already brewing ahead of its premiere in October. And remember, if they kill Daryl, we riot…
