Now that he’s officially an apprentice, ‘The Mandalorian’ needs to answer a burning Grogu question

What is the way?

The third season of The Mandalorian has officially drawn to a close, but we’d be wise not to be fooled by the rather idyllic state we left Din Djarin and Grogu in. With season 4 in the pipeline, the internet’s favorite father-and-son duo surely have plenty more adventures ahead of them, to say nothing of the fact that we didn’t see Moff Gideon’s body following the explosion on Mandalore.

Perhaps the most intriguing development in the finale, however, was Grogu’s imminent future as a Mandalorian, with Din having formally adopted Grogu as his son so that he may become a Mandalorian apprentice despite still being unable to speak the Creed. Of course, if Grogu is going to be a Mandalorian, he’ll have to don a helmet.

This begs the very important question of how the hell Grogu is going to fit such a helmet on his head with those adorable pointy ears of his; a question that r/StarWars has decided to commit every resource to solving with all the urgency of the “if a dog wore pants” dilemma.

One user pointed out how Mandalorian suits need to be airtight in order to survive in space, therefore Grogu would somehow need to squeeze his ears into the helmet.

Another responder promptly pointed out that this is a Star Wars show, meaning a space-safe Mandalorian helmet with earholes would be as easy to explain away as anything.

Others quickly came up with the most logical answer in the form of a custom helmet with side extensions for Grogu’s ears, ruining everyone’s fun in the blink of an eye.

Of course, it’s also bold to assume that Disney would ever allow Grogu’s face to be covered in the first place.

And with that, it sounds like we’ve officially deduced the plot of season 4; a slice-of-life Star Wars show in which Din and co. rally to create the perfect helmet for Grogu, sending them on rollicking adventures in search of more beskar steel for the task.
