Fortunately, the network threw us a bone today by releasing a handful of images taken from “Into the Void,” and they can be found in the gallery below. On the downside, there’s nothing spoiler-ish on hand, but any new promo material is much appreciated.

As you can see, the core crew working out of STAR Labs is present throughout the gallery, with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) each being pictured. Conspicuous by his absence is that of Tom Cavanagh, though it’s known he’ll play yet another iteration of Harrison Wells.

Based on how our pals aren’t looking all that happy in certain shots, my guess is they’ve had the latest calamity plaguing Central City sprung on them. Considering how set photos captured Godspeed on location during filming, there’s a good chance he’s the cause of their headaches.

If not him, then suspicion should be cast on Bloodwork, who’ll serve as the big bad for the first half of season 6. In case you hadn’t heard, a different threat will emerge following “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” so don’t expect for him to stick around into 2020.

At the time of this writing, there’s been no confirmation of who’ll follow Bloodwork’s act, but I’m not willing to rule out Mob Rule just yet. If you’ll recall, he was referenced in season 5 by the time-traveling Nora. Having considered how this show has already burned through so many villains, Mob Rule is essentially a box yet to be checked off.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, October 8th on The CW.
