Well, the network isn’t ready to stop there, for they’ve continued utilizing social media as a valuable promotional vehicle. This time, it’s Gotham‘s official Instagram page being used to reveal some rather stylish artwork (seen below) showing the Penguin on the steps of City Hall. Not only that, but one of his old campaign posters happens to be found on the steps.

In a way, this could be viewed as a homecoming of sorts. Don’t forget, Oswald Cobbelpot actually served as mayor a few years back – before being betrayed and ousted from office, that is. But now that the city has been torn asunder following the events of “No Man’s Land,” it makes sense that Penguin set up shop in his old digs.

Being one of Batman’s quintessential villains, it’s only natural that Oswald be featured prominently throughout these final twelve episodes. In fact, some leaked photos showing him adopting a more classic look one would expect from the character surfaced online not long ago, though we’re guessing those were taken from a scene shot for a flash forward/epilogue.

When it comes to what else will go down in the premiere episode, “Year Zero,” it’s recommended that you check out the synopsis below:

Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) face the chaos Gotham City has become. Their mission to keep the city safe becomes more complicated, as the villains who survived the attack on the city begin to resurface and claim various territories. Meanwhile, Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) grapples with how to deal with her uncertain future.

Gotham returns for its fifth season on Thursday, January 3rd on Fox.
