Peter Dinklage Says Tyrion Has A Beautiful Ending On Game Of Thrones

“There’s only one war that matters, and it is here.”

The eighth and final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones is currently gestating in the fiery pits of development, but that hasn’t stopped the network from banging the drum for what will undoubtedly be one of 2019’s biggest TV events… if not the biggest.

Yes, after seven seasons and countless hours of epic fantasy drama, the HBO flagship is now set for its curtain call, and all signs point to a suitably satisfying conclusion for the likes of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). How they’ll end off their journeys remains to be seen, but at least for one character, we know that things will conclude beautifully.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight recently, Peter Dinklage, the man who brings Tyrion Lannister to life, revealed that the fan favorite has a beautiful conclusion to his story in the upcoming season.

“There are no better writers in television than Dan Weiss and David Benioff,” the actor declared. “They ended it brilliantly. Better than I could have imagined and you people are in for it. It ends beautifully for my character, whether it be tragic or not.”

Though it probably won’t won’t please everyone, HBO’s six-part finale for what’s without a doubt one of their most successful shows ever has been described as everything from heartbreaking to satisfying to straight-up brilliant, and though the exact fate that awaits Tyrion remains a mystery, we’re inclined to believe that he’ll still be standing when all’s said and done.

We should find out soon enough, though, as Game of Thrones season 8 is barreling down on its 2019 premiere. An early April debut has been rumored, but it now appears as though HBO’s premier fantasy drama may start wind down next summer. Regardless, we’ll be bringing you all the latest intel from Westeros as time wears on, so be sure to stay tuned.
