Sweet Christmas! Mike Colter’s Hero for Hire puckers up for a smooch in the latest pair of set photos for The Defenders, Netflix’s 2017 team-up series that is still, at the time of writing, searching for a premiere date.
The lucky lady? Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), who fell for Luke towards the end of Marvel and Netflix’s most recent solo series. Indeed. those worried that the events of Luke Cage would keep Colter and Dawson’s lovestruck pair apart for the foreseeable future can rest easy in the knowledge that, by the time The Defenders drops on Netflix some time next year, it’ll herald a romantic reunion for the pair.
Included in the gallery above are two set photos spotted by Netflixdefenders, a Tumblr fan account. They’re just the latest in a long line of images to emerge from the New York set, after eagle-eyed viewers captured Power Man alongside Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Once a former flame to Luke, Missick’s detective will seemingly have a clash with Jessica Jones herself in The Defenders, who was last seen opposite Rachael Taylor’s Trish Walker.
The Defenders has been slated for premiere some time in 2017. Netflix is yet to announce exactly when the heroes of Hell’s Kitchen will join forces but when they do, they’ll be flanked by a formidable roster of allies:Â Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, Simone Missick, Elden Henson, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, Rachael Taylor and Iron Fist star Jessica Henwick.
Speaking of Iron Fist, the Finn Jones-led standalone series is next in line to join Netflix’s superhero pantheon, and has been earmarked for premiere on March 17, 2017. Stay tuned for more on that one.
