Next week’s episode of Gotham is the penultimate instalment before the series takes its winter hiatus, and it looks like a big one! While James Gordon may have learned the truth about Theo Galavan and his sinister plans for the city, the preview above makes it clear that it’s the villain who has the last laugh when he’d freed.

It’s that which looks set to put the heroic detective on a deadly collision course with him as the show builds towards the highly anticipated midseason finale, and with Bruce also closing in on the truth about who was responsible for the murder of his parents, this episode of Gotham is probably best not missed.

Here’s the synopsis for “The Son of Gotham,” courtesy of Fox:

Gordon confronts a suspect who is connected to Galavan, but falls short of obtaining any information. Meanwhile, Bruce gets one step closer to discovering the name of his parent’s killer in the all new ‘Rise of the Villains: The Son of Gotham’ episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, November 23rd on FOX.

Season two of Gotham has so far exceeded expectations, and the show appears to have really found its footing since making its return. Last year’s midseason finale saw Gordon stripped of his badge and force to work in Arkham Asylum, a status quo shift which didn’t last anywhere near long enough when the show returned to make an impact. Here’s hoping that whatever they have planned for Gotham later this month is a much bigger deal.
