CBS has released the first official look at Superman’s Fortress of Solitude via an image from the February 29th episode of Supergirl, and it lets us see for the first time how the iconic DC Comics location will appear in this world.

In all honesty, it’s clear to see that the show has followed the comic books and original Superman movies very closely, so it’s nothing radically different. Still, it’s exciting to finally get a look at it.

For more details on this episode of Supergirl (titled “Solitude”), here’s the newly released description:

Kara travels to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in hopes of learning how to defeat Indigo (Laura Vandervoort), a dangerous being who can transport via the Internet and who has a connection to Kara’s past. Also, James’s relationship with Lucy reaches a crossroads, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Further tying Kara’s story into Superman’s is an odd decision, because as cool as it will be to pay a visit to the Fortress of Solitude, the fact that Supergirl never shows the Man of Steel is beginning to get a little silly. They’ll have to find a solution to that at some point, but for now, we’re alright with going along with it.
