Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles Poses With Red Hood Costume

Even though the Bat-Family's finally expanding on the big screen with the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, it's hard to overlook some of Hollywood's more glaring omissions. I mean, it's 2018 and we've yet to see the likes of Nightwing and Red Hood in live action. And when you consider how both of those former Robins have rabid fanbases to call their own, you'd think it'd have happened by now. Granted, Jason Todd may be appearing as a youngster on the Titans series, but that's not quite the same thing.

As you may have heard, there’ve been those campaigning for Supernatural‘s own Jensen Ackles to don the helmet in a hopeful motion picture at some point ever since he voiced the wildly popular anti-hero in 2010’s modern animated classic that was Batman: Under the Red Hood. To this day, Ackles’ voice remains the one I hear in my mind whenever reading comic books, and perhaps the same rings true for you.

Funny enough, Jensen recently happened across a Red Hood costume under undefined circumstances, the photographic evidence of which soon found its way to his Instagram page. Captioned with “#JasonTodd meet #DeanWinchester” and “Well this is awkward,” the image can be viewed below.

If anything, this’ll reignite everyone’s desire to see him take on the role in live action, but even if such an opportunity were to present itself, he remains very busy with Supernatural. Don’t forget, the seemingly neverending horror series has quite the demanding schedule, and has quite possibly forced the lead actors to pass on desirable gigs in the past. Still, you can’t argue against such gainful employment.

Red Hood or not, Jensen Ackles can next be seen when Supernatural returns for its fourteenth season on Thursday, October 11 on The CW.
