The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals teased us with a first look at the new series back in April and already had us sold. With only a little over a week left until The Originals season 1 officially premieres on The CW, the network is giving fans more reasons to tune in with a complete set of promotional photos of the cast.
The Originals is taking Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) back to New Orleans – a place they once called home – where they are about to find themselves in the middle of a war brewing between the witches and the vampires. The Original family has been lured onto the witches side by a shift in the supernatural balance. Klaus may have been reluctant to join their cause at first, but a takeover – by whatever means – is exactly what he’s looking for. Klaus has returned with a vengeance, and he wants to take back everything his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), has taken in his long absence.
Joining what’s left of the Original family is Phoebe Tonkin, reprising her role as the werewolf Hayley, Charles Michael Davis as the vampire Marcel, Daniella Pineda as the witch Sophie, Leah Pipes as the human Cami, and Danielle Campbell as the over-sheltered and gifted witch Davina.
The Originals’ series premiere will be on a special night, Thursday, October 3rd at 9PM, following the season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries. After that will move to Tuesdays at 8 PM for the rest of the season. If you saw the backdoor pilot that aired in April and the thought of bailing on the premiere crossed you mind, uncross it. This episode will not be exactly the same as what you saw before, and you won’t want to miss any of it!
