The Walking Dead Boss Won’t Rule Out A Rick/Daryl Reunion

Franchise boss Scott Gimple refuses to rule out a Walking Dead reunion involving Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes.

Few TV double acts can hold a candle to Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon of The Walking Dead.

Together, they’ve slaughtered scores upon scores of the undead and helped propel AMC’s apocalyptic saga to dizzying new heights, so it was with a heavy heart when we reported that Rick’s time on the series was coming to an end, as both Andrew Lincoln and the Powers That Be prepared for something new.

As time passed, it emerged that AMC has a movie trilogy planned for Andrew Lincoln’s hero, the first of which is expected to arrive in 2020. And during San Diego Comic-Con 2019, the question was posed to franchise chief Scott Gimple: will we ever see Grimes and Dixon share the screen again?

“I mean, without… I’ll say this. You said, ‘Will he ever?’ I can’t rule that out. Have you seen a little film When Harry Met Sally? That’s how they’re going to rejoin again.”

Norman Reedus, on the other hand, is much more hopeful, and believes it’s only a matter of time before his roguish biker is standing next to his old pal – his brother, really – once again. Via IGN, the Daryl Dixon actor revealed the following, though refused to be drawn on any specific details:

“I definitely think, if that’s on the cards, that should without a doubt happen. It’s such a family group, and it would be hard not to have that family be part of the story dynamic, you know what I mean?”
