New Titans Promo Teases Batman’s Arrival

When a TV series such as Titans features Dick Grayson in his Robin persona in the lead role – not to mention guest appearances made by his successor, Jason Todd – it’s virtually impossible to get around the subject of Batman. But when the Dark Knight is tied up in movies and in the process of going through the motions of his own respective origin over on Gotham, well, there’s bound to be some red tape preventing a proper cameo.

Still, hope springs eternal, especially whenever DC continues waving steaks in front of our faces. Already, we’ve seen Bruce Wayne appear in profile and out of focus, thus fueling speculation of a full-on Batman putting in an appearance at some point. Don’t forget, photos of a crude costume test did leak not long ago, though said duds were so devoid of detail that seeing the Caped Crusader in silhouette seems like the most likely eventuality. It’d actually be kind of funny if this series weren’t even permitted to reuse a suit previously worn in a movie, just as Birds of Prey did with Batman Forever‘s getup.

Anyways, believe it or not, Gotham’s guardian has been teased yet again, this time in a stylish recap titled “Saga,” which can be viewed at the top of this article. And in that video, Robin narrates his way through the origin of his new team, telling us how he broke away from his mentor and how Raven pulled the crew together.

If that weren’t enough, you can check out a screenshot in the space above, though it’s merely the outline of Batman’s cowl. Even so, it’ll force us to keep crossing our fingers because even the shortest of appearances made by my favorite superhero is sure to delight the masses.

Truth be told, if there were ever an opportune time for such a guest shot, it’d have to be during this week’s episode, “Jason Todd.” Hey, when you unite two Robins under one roof, you’d have to think Batman can’t be far behind, right?

Titans airs on Fridays on DC Universe.
