Tom Cavanagh Will Return To The Flash In Season 3 As A Series Regular

Season two of The Flash concluded with Barry Allen racing back in time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash, a decision which is sure to have major ramifications on the timeline. The series has always played rather fast and loose with the rules of time travel, so trying to decipher what it will look like when it returns is impossible, but there's one very interesting new wrinkle.

Season two of The Flash concluded with Barry Allen racing back in time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash, a decision which is sure to have major ramifications on the timeline. The series has always played rather fast and loose with the rules of time travel, so trying to decipher what it will look like when it returns is impossible, but there’s one very interesting new wrinkle.

According to a new report, despite his character heading back to Earth-2 in the finale, Tom Cavanagh is set to return in season three of The Flash as a series regular. What we don’t know, however, is which Harrison Wells he’ll be playing. Now that Barry Allen has stopped the Reverse-Flash, it’s unlikely that Eobard Thawne will be disguised as Wells, so that leaves us either with the original who was murdered by that villain, or the returning Earth-2 version.

The latter seems likely, especially as Harry and his daughter were possibly unaffected by The Flash’s decision to change history and will thereby be able to help him set things right…unless of course The CW series is going to commit to a totally new timeline and setting. It’s simply too soon to say, but the possibilities are endless as of right now.

Tell us, what role would you like to see Cavanagh take on when The Flash returns later this year? Sound off below and let us know.
