Tom Welling And Lynda Carter In Early Talks To Appear In Crisis On Infinite Earths

Smallville stars Tom Welling and Lynda Carter are reportedly in talks to star in The CW's crossover event, "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

For fans of The Flash, Arrow, SupergirlBlack Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow and the upcoming Batwoman, December can’t get here fast enough. And, if the stars align, we can add yet another fandom of a popular television show from the first eleven years of this century.

According to sources close to We Got This Covered (the very same sources who told us about that Swamp Thing movie and that Black Adam will be the villain in Shazam! 3, both of which were later confirmed), Smallville‘s Tom Welling and former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter are in “early talks” – meaning it’s not a sure thing just yet – to appear in the crossover party of the century, “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” In case you haven’t heard, it’s shaping up to be the biggest superhero event since Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and we won’t even have to buy an overpriced theater ticket to see it.

Up until this point, our two Supermen were Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin and Superman Returns’ Brandon Routh as the Kingdom Come Man of Steel. Now, though, Welling’s in talks to return as Clark Kent, which could mean something pretty perturbing to longtime Smallville fans. That being that he might not be putting on the suit…again. He finally donned it in the final moments of 2011’s season finale of the aforementioned show, but not letting him wear the cape and tights in “Crisis” likely won’t please many folks.

As for the lovely Lynda Carter, she’d be starring as Wonder Woman. As fans no doubt know, she rocked it as Diana Prince on her TV show from 1975 to 1979 and also showed up on Supergirl as President Olivia Marsdin and on Smallville as the meteor freak-controlling mother of Allison Mack’s Chloe Sullivan. Mack, suffice it to say, probably won’t be appearing in “Crisis.”

With the support of not only legions of Smallville fans, but also the EP of Arrow and Green Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, it’s looking like we might finally get to see both Welling and Carter back in action. After all, rumors that the stars will appear in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” event have been swirling for a while now and though the actors are only in “early talks” at this stage, we’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll get at least one of them in the crossover, if not both.
