New Trailer For The Flash Teases An Intriguing Fifth Season

With just over one month to go until The Flash returns for its highly anticipated fifth season, The CW have really begun cranking up the hype engine, this time releasing a new promo that's circulating online and during commercial breaks for their prime time shows. Seen above, it's certainly shorter than the one screened at San Diego Comic-Con back in July, sure, but it focuses much more on what's to come.

First and foremost, the West-Allen family dynamic is on display, with Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Nora continuing to be the focus of marketing material. Though she’s certainly not the first speedster to visit Central City by any means, the fact that she’s Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future has had everyone talking over the summer.

Speaking of which, seeing Barry asking Nora AKA XS about what happens to him in the future may be what grabbed my attention most. If you’ll remember, we’ve known about how the Flash is fated to go missing in a Crisis in the year 2024 ever since the pilot episode first aired, so maybe some light will be shed on that subject. Either way, I hope the show makes it to ten seasons just so that we can see what happens for ourselves.

Additionally, the new big bad known as Cicada is teased even further. And though past villains certainly did rack up their own respective body counts, I sense something so brutal about this particular guy. Maybe it’s just me, but I expect for him to carve a bloody path wherever he may go.

The Flash returns for its fifth season on Tuesday, October 9 on The CW. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the usual place below!
