‘Warrior Nun’ showrunner left understandably incensed after Netflix changes its viewership metrics

And it's very easy to see why.

In an attempt to provide more transparency – which really just reads as the streaming service patting itself on the back and justifying its decision-making process even further – Netflix has altered the way in which it measures viewership data, leaving Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry understandably incensed as a result.

The second season of the insanely popular comic book adaptation proved to be its last, at least for the time being looking at how the campaign continues to rumble on in the background, but would it have been rewarded with another run of episodes had Netflix implemented its new strategy six months ago when the final batch of adventures for Alba Baptista’s Ava Silva debuted?

Barry certainly seems to think so, and it goes without saying that there’s an awful lot of people firmly in agreement. The effects of the platform altering the algorithm have already been noticed, with Wednesday overtaking Stranger Things at the top of the all-time episodic watch-list, while several forgotten movies have come in from the cold to claim a spot on the rejigged Top 10.

We’re not saying that Warrior Nun would have suddenly been designated as one of the streamer’s biggest-ever success stories, but had the dual-pronged figures of both hours viewed and views in general been tallied when the boardroom was sharpening its axe, then maybe there wouldn’t have been any need for the Halo Bearers to dedicate half a year of their lives trying to ensure the show somehow manages to rise from the ashes in one form or another.
