What is ‘Bluey’s hangover episode that adults love?

We've all been there.

An episode of the popular children’s TV show Bluey seems to resonate with parents as well as their kids. Titled, “Whale Watching,” the episode features Bluey and her sister Bingo embarking on a whale-watching adventure in which their dad, Bandit, is the boat and their mom, Chilli, is the whale. The episode aired in 2022 and continues to receive commentary and views.

The episode starts with Chilli and Bandit sleepily laying around, saying, “I do not have the energy for games today.” That comment — on top of their desire for corn chips and cream cheese and Bluey and Bingo reminding their mother that she was “dancing on the barbeque tables,” the night before at their neighbor’s New Year’s Party — led viewers to believe this season 3 episode features a very hungover Bandit and Chilli.

Because of that, this particular episode really resonated with parents all over the world.

Parents have shared in the past how Bluey resonates with both them and their kids, but this time it’s on a whole new level. @Leeennnaaa01 on TikTok commented, “This episode was made for the adults.”

Twitter user @JayBSauceda shared, “The episode of Bluey where the parents are hungover is the episode that made me fall in love with the show.” Others called the episode “perfection” and “the best episode by far.”

@ThatJeana on Twitter even said, “There is an episode of Bluey where the parents are hungover and I’ve never identified more with a kids show. Representation matters.”

Season 3, including the “Whale Watching” episode, is available to stream on Disney Plus and is sure to bring many more relatable moments to kids and parents alike.
