Epic Games has made the details of its fourth (and potentially final) piece of Gears of War 3 downloadable content public. Entitled Forces of Nature, this next drop will in fact be another map pack containing a whopping five maps. Of course, that total is split up into three new locations and two returning favourites:

Artillery
Aftermath
Cove
Raven’s Down (Gears of War)
Jacinto (Gears of War 2)

Four new character skins will also join the online bullet brigade, along with seven new weapon skins. We do know that one of the skins will be related to MLG, while another two will be Easter eggs. However, after that, not much is known about them. Though, we do know who the new playable characters will be:

Commando Dom
Mechanic Baird
Savage Grenadier Elite
Savage Hunter

Last but not least is the fact that this pack will re-introduce Guardian Mode from Gears of War 2. It furthers the design of Assassination Mode (from the series’ debut,) allowing players to continue battling after their team leader(s) have been executed. After that point, respawns are prohibited.

Set to release on March 27 for 800 Microsoft Points, Forces of Nature is officially the final release to fall under the game’s Season Pass. However, the studio has not ruled out the possibility of more content for the popular third-person shooter. While speaking to Digital Spy, Rod Fergusson (director at Epic Games) had the following to say:

“It’s kind of a ‘never say never’ perspective.”

“We’ve completed the obligation for those with the season pass, so it’s really now all about community demand and those sorts of things and what people want. But I mean, it takes a lot of effort to create DLC, and in terms of internal resources and what we’re focused on, that kind of stuff.

“It’s really driven by player demand. If players are dying for it and they want it, then it’s something that we can definitely look at.”

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that this content pack will introduce another new set of achievements to the game. There will be a total of ten, providing 250 Gamerpoints to unlock.

What say you, gamers? Will you be picking this one up?
