Avengers: Infinity War May Feature A New Character

As big as Captain America: Civil War was for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War will no doubt be bigger. As big as Captain America: Civil War was for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War will no doubt be bigger. Bringing together the titular heroes along with the Guardians of the Galaxy and several other prominent MCU characters, the film will be both an end and a new beginning for the studio.

As if all that wasn’t reason enough to be giddy with anticipation to see what directors Joe and Anthony Russo have cooked up for us, we’re now hearing that there may be another brand new character introduced when Infinity War hits theatres in 2018.

In an interview with Yahoo, Joe Russo briefly touched on the recent news surrounding Anna Kendrick possibly playing Squirrel Girl should the hero ever be brought to cinemas, saying: “Anthony would probably die from exhaustion if we introduced another character.” Anthony then quickly replied with: “that’s not to say we’re not going to introduce a new character.”

It’s vague, to be sure, but it’s a hint that leads us to believe that we’ll be seeing someone that we’ve never seen before in the film. Of course, the most likely candidate would be Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. Introducing her here would make perfect sense, given she’s set to have her own solo outing arrive in 2019.

Then again, there’s also been rumors of Larson showing up in the MCU before Infinity War, so who knows? Perhaps Marvel has an unannounced character that they plan to debut in the Russo’s film. At this point, all we can do is speculate.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Infinity War hits theatres on May 4, 2018.
