The Russo Brothers Spoof Logan With New Avengers: Infinity War Poster

The Mad Titan as Logan? This newly-unveiled fan poster for Avengers: Infinity War renders Thanos as Hugh Jackman's enraged mutant.

Looks like Marvel’s Mad Titan has a heart, after all.

Coming out of the latest trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, comic book fans have been combing through each and every frame on the hunt for potential story clues, MCU Easter eggs, and something – anything – related to Clint Barton’s Hawkeye.

Alas, it appears Jeremy Renner’s skilled sharp-shooter is MIA, which only leads us to believe that Hawkeye will be given a more central role by the time Avengers 4 rolls around in 2019. But before we got too far ahead of ourselves, there’s an Infinity War on the horizon, and this past weekend, directors Joe and Anthony Russo took to Facebook (h/t CBM) to peel back the curtain on a rather striking new (and likely fan-made) poster for Avengers: Infinity War. And it ought to be familiar to those of you who’ve seen James Mangold’s Western masterclass, Logan.

And yes, it appears that tiny green hand clutching onto Thanos belongs to Gamora, Zoe Saldana’s Guardian who is said to be an adopted daughter of Marvel’s Mad Titan – ditto for Nebula, who has grown into one of the MCU’s most important players since her debut in Guardians of the Galaxy, much to the amazement of actress Karen Gillan.

And though they’ve clashed before, perhaps Gamora and Nebula will set aside their differences in the face of a common enemy? Hell, can we expect the latter to bring Thanos down to size in 2019? So many questions, so few answers…

Nevertheless, Avengers: Infinity War has been slated for a global release on April 27th, by which point we should have a better understanding of Nebula, Gamora and their complicated relationship with the “horrifying, empathetic” Mad Titan.
