Brie Larson’s On The Run In New Captain Marvel Set Video

Brie Larson’s MCU debut looks to have been shelved until 2019.

This past weekend saw another flurry of rumors suggesting that Captain Marvel was a shoo-in for Avengers: Infinity War, leading many to assume that Carol Danvers would receive a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo similar to Flash’s bit part in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Turns out that’s not the case, though, after Disney (h/t /Film) confirmed a few days back that Captain Marvel won’t be featured in Avengers: Infinity War whatsoever, and that Brie Larson’s first screen appearance as the supercharged heroine will be arriving in March of 2019 via Captain Marvel, which is now shooting in the streets of Los Angeles.

Already, the internet’s been flooded with photos and videos from the set, all showing off Larson in that controversial green costume, and today, we’ve got another look at it. Thanks to the clip below, you can see the actress in her superhero suit seemingly giving chase to something or someone.

Check it out:

So, not too revealing then, but as mentioned above, it’s nice to get another glimpse of that costume, which has been the cause of much discussion lately. It’s worth remembering, though, that it’s a long-held trope of superhero origin films that the protagonist has a prototype suit before settling into their iconic number later on. Given that, we imagine that Carol’s green outfit is perhaps a Kree costume that she wears immediately after getting her powers, which she’ll swap for her more familiar look afterwards.

Whatever the case may be, we’ve been told to expect a funny, fearless and kick-ass new addition to the Marvel universe, as the film’s scribe, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, recently said the following:

We really were bringing so much of what was already in the comics onto the screen, it felt like, in terms of the amazing character who’s so funny and sassy and talks back, and she’s fearless. I love that Carol Danvers is so funny. She has a blast when she kicks ass. Those comics are amazing! It’s an amazing world and sandbox to play in. You’re working with incredible creative people, every day. I had a total dream experience.

Alongside Larson, Captain Marvel also stars Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, among others. It’s currently scheduled to fly into theaters on March 8th, 2019, just a few months before the current era of the MCU comes to a close with Avengers 4.
