Inspired by Finkel’s memoir of the same name, True Story offers a haunting illustration of Longo’s actions after he’s accused of murdering his wife and two children – most notably, his decision to use Finkel’s name while on the run in Mexico. The puzzling act leads Finkel to begin visiting Longo in prison, luring him into a verbal game of cat and mouse. Finkel’s partner, Jill (Jones), sees right through Longo’s manipulative tactics and tries to warn him of what he’s getting into before it’s too late, but Longo’s charm is all Finkel can see.

Following her Oscar-nominated portrayal of Jane Hawking in The Theory of Everything, Jones has been elevated from indie darling to mainstream It Girl. The actress is red hot right now in Hollywood and we were thrilled when we had the chance to sit down with her for an exclusive interview during True Story‘s NYC press day. Over the course of our discussion, she spoke about her preparation for the role, collaborating with theater director Rupert Goold and portraying complex women.

Check it out in the video above and be sure to catch True Story when it hits theatres this Friday!
