With Justice League currently in production over in London, and a big reveal for the film set to hit the web on Tuesday, rumors and speculation regarding the upcoming DC Comics adaptation are starting to run rampant. Though this latest batch hasn’t been confirmed by the studio just yet, a Reddit user has compiled quite a few interesting facts that just may shed some light on who the titular heroes will be fighting against in the film.
According to the thread, the Justice League will be battling Ares and Ocean Master. The former is said to have been weakened after the events of Wonder Woman, but will still try to start a war between “the Atlanteans and the Amazons so he can reach the height of his powers.” Ocean Master, meanwhile, will apparently betray Aquaman to take the thrown before spearheading an attack on the Amazons.
As for Darkseid, he’s said to feature in the film. Quite heavily, in fact. He won’t be the main villain though and will instead take that role in Justice League 2. Furthermore, we’re also hearing that Green Lantern won’t appear until the end of the movie, which means he probably won’t have a very large role – which is likely why we haven’t heard about the casting for the character yet.
The other interesting things that that the Reddit thread mentions is that one, The Batman will feature both Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon along with The Joker and Black Mask as the villains. And two, Warner Bros. has cancelled the Cyborg film and as of now, they’re currently developing Suicide Squad 2, Man of Steel 2, Birds of Prey, Crime Syndicate and New Gods.
So, there you have it. A ton of information to digest, but all of it’s intriguing and though nothing can be confirmed just yet, it will no doubt give people a lot to mull over. Some of the rumors seem a bit more probable than others, but we suspect that there’s likely some truth hidden in here and are personally really hoping to see the stuff about The Batman end up being accurate.
Justice League hits theatres on November 17th, 2017. Be sure to check back with us on Tuesday as we’ll be bringing you the “big reveal” as soon Warner Bros. unveils it.
