Over the past few weeks, the Internet has been churning out fan theories for Star Wars: The Force Awakens left, right, and center. Even before we discovered the official subtitle for J.J. Abrams’ anticipated reboot, reports suggested that we would see our first glimpse of the film before the year’s end in the form of a teaser. Well, today, the latest murmuring to make its way online has allegedly revealed the contents of that trailer in question.

The speculation comes by way of Badass Digest, who made it crystal clear that while the following snippet does align with previous reports, eager fans should still file it under the rumour category.

It’ll be short. And when I say short, I mean one minute long. It’s going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There’s no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. And then the music swells up into a full orchestral piece – perhaps what John Williams recorded this weekend? – and we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley’s, saying “Wake up.”

If this proves to be accurate, the maiden teaser for The Force Awakens should be a tantalzing conversation starter for the holidays. We know that Abrams has recruited quite the ensemble cast for his venture to a galaxy far, far away, so this is perhaps the best and most effective way to communicate the new band of characters to the general moviegoing audience.

Plus, with John Williams classic score playing the background — which we understand will be slightly tuned for the modern age — we can’t help but be excited for the footage, whenever Disney plan to release it.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will launch into theaters on December 18, 2015. Until then, you can share your own thoughts on the purported trailer description in the comments.
