With filming underway for Rock Of Ages, set pics are starting to leak out. Last week we got a couple and today we get one more. This time we see Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin in a slightly disturbing although somewhat intriguing picture, which is brought to us by Latino Review. It shows off the two stars in full costume and looking rather different than what we’re used to seeing.
Personally, I’m pretty excited for the June 1st, 2012 release. I recently saw the Broadway version in New York and really enjoyed it. I’m still a bit skeptical about Tom Cruise and if he can pull of his role, but aside from that I’m definitely looking forward to this one. I’m also interested to see how their going to pull off some of the various musical numbers because right now, I just can’t see it.
Joining Baldwin and Brand are Diego Gonzalez Boneta, Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Malin Akerman and Paul Giamatti.
Rock of Ages is set in the late 1980s, where an aspiring rocker, Drew, works as a busboy in the trademark Hollywood bar/club The Bourbon Room. He falls instantly for a cute girl, Sherrie, who arrives from Kansas hoping to make it big in acting. After being hired by the bar, Sherrie accepts Drew’s invitation to have a picnic at a place overlooking Los Angeles. There, he mistakenly suggests that the two are just friends. Later, at the Bourbon Room, ladies’ man and lead singer for his band Arsenal, Stacee Jaxx, will be playing that night and instantly hits it off with Sherrie and the two have sex in the bar’s bathroom. Subsequently, Drew proves his musical ability in the club and is chosen to open for Stacee. A record producer in the club offers Drew a contract, which he accepts.
